Why We Procrastinate

I have Procrastinated.

I procrastinate because I’m afraid of failing at the tasks that I need to complete.

I procrastinate because sometimes I feel lazy and I wait for inspiration to come find me

I procrastinate because I am avoiding doing the task ahead of me.

Technically there are four types of procrastination:

  1. Anxious Procrastination

  2. Fun Procrastination

  3. Plenty of Time Procrastination

  4. Perfectionist Procrastination

Brooke Castillo came up with the word Pro-Activation. I love this word!

Pro-Activation suggests doing tasks sooner by giving yourself a deadline up front and making sure that you honor your own deadlines.

It’s the difference between creating your life, and reacting to your life – Brooke Castillo

I am working on not letting my life slip away in procrastination by wasting time avoiding tasks out of fear of failing, anxiety or regret over lost time.

Everything we want is on the Other side of Procrastination!

Let’s go my friends! If you want to learn how to Pro-Activate your life, join me on my Facebook.
