Planes, Automobiles, and Escalators
Planes, Automobiles and Escalators
What do they all have in common? They take us somewhere wewant to go. They make getting there faster and easier.
Have you ever been driving in traffic and it seems like nomatter which lane you are in it’s the “slow” lane?
Have you ever been racing through the airport to catch yourconnecting flight and get on the escalator and there’s that one person who just won’t get out of your way?
Optional Thoughts
Did you know, that all thoughts are optional? I realized recently that my mind likes to try to tell me a lot of things as if they are facts.
Take for instance, this morning as I was standing in front of the mirror in the bathroom looking at myself… My mind said to me “you look tired,” however I got 10 hours of sleep, and when I questioned this thought and looked at myself with unbiased objectivity…my face actually looked like I was well-rested. My eyes were clear and bright, my complexion looked good and by all appearances I appeared to be well rested.
We Think We Have Problems
We think we have problems. We have thoughts about things. This is it. I thought I had a problem.
My friend, complains about Everything. Absolutely Everything. It annoys the crap out of me. Is this a problem? Or a Thought? My brain insists that it’s a big problem.
My thoughts about my friend is that it’s annoying that she is always complaining as if everything she says is factual news. My brain has a lot of thoughts. Not problems.
